Waleed Abdalati
Waleed Abdalati is Director of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES), a partnership between the University of Colorado Boulder and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Previously, Dr. Abdalati held various positions at NASA in the areas of scientific research and program management, including the role of Chief Scientist from 2011-12. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University as well as a M.S. in Aerospace Engineering and a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Colorado. Dr. Abdalati has received over a dozen professional awards from the White House, NASA, NSF and The American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Ray Beck
Ray Beck retired from Yampa Valley Electric Association on March 30, 2009 after 37 years of service. He was elected to the Craig City Council in 2007 and served two consecutive 4-year terms; and one 2-year term as the Mayor of Craig Colorado. Ray was elected as a Moffat County Commissioner for District II in November of 2016 and took the oath of office on January 10, 2017.
Commissioner Beck served on various boards and commissions over the last 14 years including the Craig Moffat Airport Advisory Board and the Yampa Valley Airport Commission for eight years. He was appointed by Governor Hickenlooper to the Colorado Aeronautical Board in 2014 and again in 2017. He has served in various leadership roles including the past Chairman to the CAB, an advisory board to the CDOT Division of Aeronautics. Ray is a past member of the Colorado Northwestern Community College Foundation Board and is an alumni from the class of 1970. He sits on the Executive Board for CLUB 20 as the Membership Chair and has held that position for the last 11 years. He was also the Liaison and former Chairman for the Moffat County Board of County Commissioners to Associated Governments of Northwest Colorado, representing issues that are important to Craig and Northwest Colorado.
KC Becker
KC Becker served in the Colorado State Legislature for seven years, first as a State Representative and House Majority Leader before rising to Speaker of the House She is only the fourth woman in Colorado state history to serve as Speaker of the House, and seventh woman overall in the United States. She is currently a partner at Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP, a Denver-based law firm.
During her time in the Colorado State Legislature, KC led landmark legislation to reform Colorado’s oil and gas sector, modernized the state broadband office and funding streams, and mandate carbon reduction goals. Under her leadership, Colorado created the first Office of Just Transition in the country, supporting coal workers, employers, and communities as they plan future closings of coal plants upon which their communities depend.
Jennifer Holloway
Jennifer Holloway is the Executive Director of the Craig Chamber of Commerce. Previously, she served as director of student support at Colorado Northwestern Community College. She has volunteered on the boards of Moffat County United Way and the Craig/Moffat Economic Development Partnership, as well as serving as a member of the Moffat County Emergency Response Training Committee and the Moffat County Public Information Officer Committee.
